My Myanmar International School is designed to build a student’s intellectual, social, leadership, civic, and spiritual skills. Integrating active learning into a classroom focused on 21st Century skills allows the students to take responsibility and ownership of their education and promotes mindful leaders with an eye on continuous development and growth.
We appreciate the skills required to live and prosper in the 21st Century. We need to invest our time and efforts into developing the literacies and competencies that will allow us to become regional and global leaders. Our students will grow and learn in a culture of continuous development, where teachers are always seeking to improve, and classrooms are designed to encourage curiosity and intellectual exploration.
Our educational philosophy is to empower students to manage their own education and future lives. We believe in education that offers skills for life, and not just for passing examinations. We take a holistic approach to learning in which students develop skills that they will need for the rest of their lives, such as their intellectual, emotional, social, physical, leadership, and spiritual sides.
We follow the teaching techniques along the lines of the “student-initiated learning approach” and further improve them with what is necessary in our classrooms. Every classroom is student-centered, with 90% of the activities being play-based,wherein the students are empowered to take ownership of their own everyday lessons on a micro level, individual-skill by skill.
